Need Help :)

I love the Rochester Public Market especially Springtime because it is full of flowers and plants from big and small gardeners/farmers all over the area. You walk down the aisles and the flowers are draping and blooming on each side of you, it feels good. Can’t explain it but just feels right :)    So I went one of the first days…not knowing the difference between on flower from the next,  and picked up a couple here and there. I put some in my front yard and a couple in pots. Then I had one….no clue what its call, its pink and cute so I potted it and place it on my deck stairs. Well  my black thumb hit again and it died within a couple of weeks….oh so I thought.  My husband blamed my lack of watering, my daughter blame not enough sun (she’s five…”mom all flowers need sun..lots and lots of sun!”) and I blamed the mean seller that sold me a dud plant!  Leaving it in the pot (looking dead and withered) I decided to continue to water it…when I remembered and all of a sudden a flower came out. The leaves turned pretty green again and what do ya know…it LIVES! I quickly transplanted it in a hanging basket and watched carefully.  Its beautiful! Pink and white flowers that stand up on a long stem atop fuzzy dark green leaves. I love it.  I want more but…..I have no clue what type of flower it is.

So here is the question…….what is this????

Welcome!

Hello! Thanks for visiting and thinking perhaps this might be something fun to read! I love to read random blogs and hopefully you stumbled across this blog not looking for information necessarily but rather for a little light reading! Information about gardening I don’t have but I am hoping to find out more by asking questions on this blog and getting some answers :)

I have always had a black thumb…my mom gave me one the “babies” off her spider plant and I killed it!. How does that happen??? I thought they indestructible! Oh no, she had it growing wonderful…came for a visit and it was dried up- begging for a drink of water! She also gave me her huge spider plant before she moved to Georgia but yes that also perished….so sad :(

It’s not that I don’t get the basic jist of plants…I do! Water, sunlight, and maybe take the dying parts off of certain plants….but its remember to do it. I have three active children, a husband, dog, cat and home daycare. I CANT REMEMBER MY OWN NAME SOMETIMES!

All that said I am on a new mission. I truly love flowers and plants. They make me happy and I want them to be everywhere in my yard so I am slowing going to attempt to morph my nasty black thumb into a beautiful healthy green!
